En-route, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Richat Structure, famously known as the “Eye of the Sahara,” a geological wonder. Return to Oudane and spend a restful night at the same hotel.

**Day 3: Oudane to Chinguetti – UNESCO Treasures**

After a delightful breakfast, drive to Chinguetti, one of Mauritania’s oldest and best-preserved desert towns. Explore the UNESCO-listed historic mosque and libraries, soaking in the rich cultural heritage. Spend the night in Chinguetti, surrounded by the charm of this ancient desert gem.

**Day 4: Chinguetti to Terjit Oasis and Return to NouakchottNouakchott**

Bid farewell to Chinguetti and head back to the oasis of Terjit, enjoying lunch in this serene setting. Subsequently, make your way back to Nouakchott, completing your 4-day adventure filled with desert wonders and historical treasures.

Oualata (or Walata) is one of the cornerstone trade cities in the trans-Saharan Trade Route. It is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the farthest of the ancient Mauritanian cities to reach from Nouakchott. Traveling to this city requires passing through Tichit, so it can almost always be seen together with another of the four ancient cities. You’ll also pass awesome sites on the way as well, like the Elephant Mountains. It is rich with history as a cultural and religious center as the southern terminus of the centuries-old trade route, and, fittingly, the home of a manuscript museum.
